In High School, Michael won a city-wide award for “Best News Story,” which he found strange because that winning story was the first – and only – news story he ever wrote.

Call him the Accidental Writer.

Michael optioned his first screenplay (“Wayward Winds”) at the age of 23.
By age 25 he had four produced screenplays to his credit.
He has since had four more of his screenplays optioned.
One of his spec screenplays was turned into the movie “Cool As Ice.” (Universal)
His feature screenplay, “Starving Hysterical Naked”, is the basis for the short film he directed. He is raising funds for the full-length version.

Between screenwriting assignments he has written numerous articles that have been published in newspapers and magazines. “My Life in B Pictures” (California Magazine) is his favorite published article, primarily because it is about his early movie-making career.

Michael collaborated with Lynne Franks on three of her best-selling self-help books: “Grow” (Hay House) “Bloom” (Chronicle Books) and “The Seed Manifesto” (Thorsons).

He has recently completed his first novel, “The Plan.”
