A Cum Laude graduate of the UCLA Film School, Michael has worked professionally in all aspects of filmmaking. He cut his movie teeth in “low budget” films. Starting as a production assistant, he quickly moved through the ranks until he was editing, then writing and assistant directing an array of action, kung fu, and horror films. Working as a First Assistant Director on independents and studio features, he gained an expertise in budgeting and set management. He is a member of the Directors Guild of America. His five years as a film, sound, and supervising editor gave him a background in all phases of post-production and provided him with the knowledge and foundation for his own directorial pursuits. Michael most recently wrote and directed the short film “Starving Hysterical Naked.” This demo- short was made as a showcase to help raise funds for the full-length version of this feature film about the Beat Generation. As a screenwriter, Michael has optioned four screenplays and had a spec script turned into a movie by Universal (“Cool As Ice”). Along with his feature film work, he has written and/or directed over sixty corporate videos.
